Christel Buchanan

Christel Buchanan is the Founder and CEO of ChatAndBuild, where she created the Living Brain and am ChatChat, a messaging-first platform for working with proactive AI agents. ChatAndBuild has been featured by OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, awarded a compute grant by Google, and selected as one of 25 companies for the Google for Startups Accelerator ('26 cohort). The Living Brain is a private, source-aware context layer that connects persistent memory with live information, tools, permissions and verifiable agent actions. It enables agents to maintain continuity, understand what matters and coordinate work across people and systems.

Christel was Twitter’s tenth international hire, led commercial growth for Asia Pacific at Brandwatch, a consumer intelligence platform which was acquired for $400M, and joined Zilliqa’s early team. Christel holds a postgraduate Master’s in Artificial Intelligence and an MSc in Major Programme Management, both from the University of Oxford. Christel's work sits at the intersection of agent memory, context architecture, provenance and human-agent coordination. She has also authored research on Merkle proofs and “Non-Fungible Agents,” peer-reviewed by the London School of Economics.
